The Uniting Church in Australia was formed in Australia in 1977 through the union of all Methodist and the majority of Presbyterian and Congregational Churches in Australia at the time.
As a Protestant Church, the Uniting Church is led by the Holy Spirit to interpret the Scriptures in the light of the inheritance of literary, historical and scientific enquiry which has characterized recent centuries.
